Brazilian international Richarlison joined Tottenham Hotspur from Everton in July 2022, signing a contract that extends until 2027.

The 2023/24 season was a thrilling one for the popular forward. He kicked off the campaign by reaching the milestone of 50 Premier League goals, scoring the equalizer in a dramatic late win against Sheffield United in September 2023.

However, Richarlison faced challenges as he underwent groin surgery in November 2023, which sidelined him until early December. He made a spectacular return, enjoying his most productive spell in a Spurs jersey, netting nine goals in 11 matches. This impressive run included an emotional double against his former club Everton at Goodison Park on February 3, 2024. His scoring achievements earned him a spot on the shortlist for the Premier League’s Player of the Month and the Premier League Goal of the Month for his stunning opener at Goodison.

Unfortunately, a knee injury limited his involvement, allowing him to start only one of the final 13 matches of the season. Nevertheless, he managed to come off the bench to score against Liverpool at Anfield. This injury ultimately ruled him out of contention for Brazil’s Copa America squad for the summer of 2024.

In total, Richarlison finished the season with 12 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions, including 11 goals in 28 Premier League matches, with 18 of those being starts. This brought his overall tally to 14 goals in 66 appearances for Spurs.

Born in Nova Venécia, Richarlison began his youth career at Real Noroeste and América Futebol Clube before making his professional debut in July 2015. He joined Fluminense in January 2016, where he scored 11 goals in 46 appearances and earned a place in the Campeonato Carioca Team of the Year after helping his team reach the final in his second season.

In August 2017, Richarlison moved to Watford, where he featured in all 38 Premier League matches during his first season, catching the eye of Everton. He marked his debut for the Toffees with a brace in a 2-2 draw against Wolves. Versatile as both a wide attacker and central striker, he finished as Everton’s joint-top scorer across all competitions in his first two seasons, reaching double figures in three of his four campaigns at the club since joining in July 2018.

Richarlison’s first season at Spurs (2022/23) was challenging, as he managed only three goals in 35 appearances, including 18 starts. However, he had a memorable moment when he scored both goals in a 2-0 victory against Olympique Marseille during his Champions League debut.

On the international stage, Richarlison made his senior debut for Brazil in September 2018, coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 victory over the United States. He was part of the 23-man squad for the 2019 Copa America, where Brazil secured the title for the first time since 2007, with Richarlison scoring in the final against Peru. He also contributed to Brazil finishing as runners-up in the 2021 Copa America. Richarlison played a crucial role in Brazil’s gold medal win at the rescheduled 2020 Summer Olympics, finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with five goals. He also shone at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, scoring three memorable goals, including a volley against Serbia that was shortlisted for the 2022 FIFA Puskas Award.

By the end of the 2023/24 season, Richarlison had earned 48 caps for Brazil, scoring 20 goals.
